Home. Such a powerful word. A meaningful place. For Greta, home helped her find her way to trusting humans. It is a wonderful thing. Can you please help her in her journey to love, belly rubs, and trust? Read her story and then come meet her.
Greta, a beautiful dilute tortie born 3/7/2021, has been through a lot. She was a feral cat that gave birth in the spring of 2023 to a litter of three in her finder's roof; all three of her kittens were adopted. Since coming to the shelter in 2023, Greta had been trying to adjust to a domesticated life surrounded by people and other cats. We were confident that given time and space, Greta would learn that people were here to care and love her. To help her along that path, Greta went to a calm and loving foster home where they showed her that she can trust humans who go slow with her. At the shelter, Greta would swat away hands wanting to pet her. But in her foster home, she would walk over to rub against the foster's hand. And when foster mom was away for a few days, Greta came to foster dad just fine. Greta came back to the shelter in mid-April and oh, such a change. She welcomes pets and gentle stroking, even BELLY RUBS earn a purr. She’s a love bug now, all due to the security of a home. Please help her journey to being a valued member of a home, a home with no other cats or dogs. Greta's adoption fee of $85 includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FELV, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To meet Greta, our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 602.971.1334. Home Fur Good Animal Rescue is located at 10220 North 32nd Street, just south of Shea Blvd in Phoenix.

Home Fur Good has trained adoption counselors to review and question any potential problems/issues with application. We do require an adoption fee which ranges for dogs $150-$300 and for cats $50-$100. All cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked.
If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.

More about this rescue
Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.
We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip. Additionally we have a low cost dental clinic each Wednesday. Check our website for more details.
