Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mildred, our 10 week old kitten, has had a pretty rough kittenhood so far. She was stray and terribly injured when we met her. If you've ever known a calico, however, you know that they are amongst the toughest of cats. Mildred is here to prove that true!
We think Mildred must have been attacked by another animal. She had an infected open fracture to her left front leg. We had to immediately amputate her leg, but that night Mildred was already purring and making one-handed biscuits. She's healed from her surgery and is ready for her forever home.
Mildred was pretty scared of the dogs she met initially in the hospital, but who can blame her? If her adoptive home has dogs, we would recommend a very slow introduction. Mildred is good, though, with other cats and kids. She is quick to head-butt and snuggle. Mildred is polite in the house and is litterbox trained. We suspect we were the first people Mildred had ever met, so she's a little bit shy in general and likes to hide. However, she is easy to pick up and hasn't shown any aggression. A quieter home may be preferred; plus, that makes it easier to hear her purr.
Mildred is FeLV/fiv negative, spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines. She'll need a few more rounds of vaccines every 3 weeks until she is 16 weeks old. She is also current on her flea preventative and dewormer.
We have all been so impressed with Mildred's resilience. We can't wait to see what lucky person adopts her. Is that you? Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org. Keep in mind we are a dog rescue so not all questions apply.
