Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Marty is a male (standard) goldendoodle who was born on 4/13/23 and came to us from a breeder. He doing great in foster care and is well-mannered, social, and good with kids who used to dogs.
8/7/23-Foster mom gave us an update on Marty:
*Housetrained
*Sleeps in his kennel without any issue
*We are walking and working on basic “heel” commands. He sits, down and paw (shake) when asked with and without a treat at the end. Continue to work on come.
*Great with kids and adults
*Cats unknown
*Has been around walkers and wheelchairs - not afraid
He is a laid back goofy boy!!
From his foster family:
“Hi, my name is Marty and I was born on 04/13/23. I am now at my foster mom’s home. She is good to me! I learned to sleep in a crate at night as long as I can see my mom. She leaves most days for a little while and puts me in a crate. I sometimes whine and cry for awhile but am getting better. She always leaves treats with me in the crate. When she comes home we go right outside.
I am doing really well with potty training. Only 1 accident while my mom was working on a computer and I snuck away. Oops!
She wakes me up in the morning and we go right outside. She tells me to potty and I do, then she gets so happy and I get pets and kisses from her.
She does feed me 3 times a day and lately I have been so happy that when I finish eating I bring her my bowl!
I take a walk and visit the neighborhood 2-3 times a day and meet people. I usually army crawl to new people and then I get lots of pets and kisses from them. Boy, there are alot of new smells for me.
I am great with a TV, but it was weird the first time mom turned it on. Mom also mowed the grass and I ran around like a crazy boy when she mowed the yard, but I didn’t mind it at all.
I am getting better with car rides. I drool on myself a lot in the car, but my mom brings me to parks and we go for a walk. So it is a good thing and I will get better with it.
My mom is working on training me and I “come” ( most of the time) when I am called, and if I “sit” I get a treat!! Now she is working on “down” with me and I am catching on pretty quick. I really like treats!! I want to jump on people but my mom is teaching me not to jump.
I loved getting combed during the day. It feels so good and it is like a massage!! I do well getting baths I just stand there and get all lathered up and then rinsed off. The towel drying is nice!
I have met some kids and they pet me and I get belly rubs!
I play hard in the mornings when it is cool outside and nap during the afternoon when it is hot out. My mom still wakes me up every 2 hours to go out and tinkle. We go outside and play and run around the yard in the evening when it is cooler out.
I also have a puppy pool in my yard and love splashing through it on the hotter days when I have to go out. The cool water feels really good.
I love chewing on my real deer antlers and sticks. I love playing and running with my pumpkin toy and then go lay in the dirt. Pumpkin is a little dirty, but I still love playing with it.
I am a pretty laid back pup, but still get into the usual stuff, so you will have to keep an eye on me… I have to keep my mom on her toes! I will still need work on training and will catch on real quick cuz I am a smart pup!”
