I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*PLEASE NOTE: Before any adoption is to take place we require all questions below to be answered and we then setup a zoom call with prospective adopters. Ruby is located in Bakersfield. If you are able to come to Bakersfield that is a plus. If not we travel a 100 mile radius to bring a dog to their new home. That includes all of Kern County, Tulare County, Fresno County, and part of Los Angeles. We also STRONGLY suggest if you are unable to adopt currently, meaning you are going away for two weeks, are not available for the next 10 days, please do NOT submit your information for consideration and only do so when you return. We have limited resources and time.***
Meet Ruby Doo!!:
If you are looking for a fuzz muffin that loves kids, loves to dance for you on her hind legs and gets so excited every time she sees you that she cannot sit still than Ruby Doo is the girl for you! This two year old girl weighs about 20 pounds, has a beautiful faded apricot coat that is super soft, hypoallergenic and non-shedding. We know that she is part poodle but think she may also be part Goldendoodle, or Labradoodle or Cockapoo. We just cannot say for sure.
This gorgeous girl has already had two homes in her short life. We have no idea about the first home but the last home she lived with children, who when we got there she simply adored, as well as several adults. She came from a depressed part of Bakersfield where dogs are routinely running the street. She appeared to have not been groomed in at least a year and needless to say she was filthy and matted to the skin. You can see her before picture. They said they were getting "rid" of her because they did not have the time and were supposedly moving in the future.
Since coming into rescue she lives in a home with several dogs and cats and has quickly turned into the perfect dog. She is 100% housebroken, takes direction well, is very loving, loves toys and enjoys the outdoors. She gets along with dogs and cats and is really good when eating her meals in groups with the others. She also loves going for car rides and is the kind of dog that can just go with the flow! She never gets upset or nervous and we were told at the vet that she was the sweetest dog ever!
Ruby is not an apartment dog. Accustomed to yards and being outside an apartment setting would not be appropriate for this girl unless you have a yard. She would do well in a myriad of home environments but most importantly she likes to play and run in her yard.
Her adoption fee includes:
1. Spay
2. Current DAPP vaccination and rabies vaccination
3. Deworming
4. Microchip
5. Professional grooming
6. Harness and leash
7. Starter food
Her adoption fee is $450.
As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as:
1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule.
2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. (Please indicate city)
3. How many adults, children and pets in the household.
4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work.
5. Where your pet will sleep.
6. Dog breed experience
7. Have you ever had to give up a pet
8. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Ruby socialized with other dogs
Some notes to consider before applying for Ruby:
1. Ruby is a 2 year old young dog. Please make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the responsibility of a young dog. Although she is housebroken adjusting to a new home she may have an accident.
2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER.
3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place.
4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process.
5. We do not make appointments for people to just come "see" the dogs available. They are in private foster homes and we go through a pre-screening process before any appointments are made.
Thank you for choosing to adopt!
