Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Magnolia, our 7 pound 6 year old chihuahua, doesn't want to go to the party. She wouldn't just be a wallflower, she would be in the flower-pot hiding from the chaos. It's not easy being an extreme introvert in a loud city, but we're sure we can find a quiet oasis for Magnolia.
Mags came to us from a local shelter. Somehow this tiny creature was stray and she needed to be spayed and have her teeth cleaned. Magnolia is recovered from her surgery and dental. Her foster family has spent the last several weeks working on getting Magnolia out of her shell.
Magnolia's ideal home would have another friendly dog around; she really looks to her foster dog siblings for comfort. Magnolia is getting better on a leash, but a secure yard is preferred as she likes her privacy. We have been working on her potty training, but this is still a work in progress. She is, however, really good in a crate and is quiet and not destructive. Magnolia does not have any prey drive and would likely be just fine with a dog-savvy cat. Kids tend to be too loud for Magnolia, so she would like a calm adult only home
It's a real pleasure to see Magnolia come out of her shell. We've discovered how much she loves food and she'll dance and run laps when it's time to eat. She has mastered snuggling in bed in the morning and chasing butterflies in the yard. She loves to meet any other dog she sees (if it's not too scary outside that is). Once she gets to know someone, Magnolia is very cuddly, sweet and funny. We are seeking a patient adopter willing to give her time to show her true self.
Magnolia is heartworm negative, microchipped and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
Many of us are just seeking some peace and quiet. Perhaps you found some and are willing to share that with a tiny, shy, delightful little dog. If so, apply to adopt on www.stumptownstrays.org
