Poppet is a Labrador retriever mix who was rescued from a rural property in Louisiana, where she lived with many other dogs and had several litters of puppies. She was neglected and infected with heartworms, but she received treatment and spaying from NYSRR. Her daughter, Nannette, was also adopted by NYSRR and had her puppies in a safe environment. Poppet is a small and sweet dog who weighs about 45lbs and is about 7 years old. She has a gray muzzle that shows her past hardships. She is shy at first, but she warms up to people quickly. She loves human attention and enjoys car rides. She is looking for a loving home where she can spend her golden years in comfort and peace.

NYSRR is a small foster based rescue organization located on Long Island. This is where most of our volunteers, vets and trainers reside. Most of our dogs including Poppet are fostered in Louisiana - they come to Nanuet,NY on paid transport when we have a foster or forever home.
