My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Life hasn’t been easy for me. My name is Spooky, and I’ve spent half my life in a rescue, just waiting for someone to notice me. I’m a five-year-old black cat with a little white tuft on my chest. Sadly, black cats like me often get overlooked. We blend into the shadows when people pass by. But I promise, if you look a little closer, you’ll see how much love I have to give.
I’m a bit of a realist — I like watching the real world rather than chasing toys. I can be sweet, though, especially when I get quiet time with someone. I love gentle pets and will even lick your fingers to show my affection. Sometimes, if the mood is right, I’ll settle in your lap. But I need a calm home where I can feel safe. Lots of noise or activity can make me feel overwhelmed.
I don’t do well with kids, but I’ve had a good relationship with dogs in the past, and I keep a watchful eye on the ones here at the rescue. My adoption fee has already been paid for by a kind soul, so all I need now is a peaceful home and someone who will take the time to understand me.
