My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Fern! I am a black, female, Lab mix and I am just under 1 year old. Even though I'm only 69lbs, I am very tall and long! I have such a pretty coat, black with a little brindle, soft and shiny, the cutest little ears, and ginormous paws!
I am quite shy and timid at first, but after a few days I warm up and won't leave your side. I am house trained, no accidents in my foster home, well, besides chewing on a few things I shouldn't. Let's face it, I'm still a puppy in training!

I get along well with other dogs, but it takes me time to warm up to other friends just as it does people. I'm so tall, I like to set my face on the table and watch you eat or see if you forgot any left overs! I do love to pounce around in the house and the back yard with my friend, who is a chocolate lab. She's sassy so it took me awhile to get her to like me, but I won her over just like I do with everyone else!

I do have my own little quirks. I absolutely hate car rides, I'm more of a stay at home kinda girl. I do walk on a leash, but at my own pace and that's a slow pace. My foster mom lets me out front, but she always keeps me on a 40ft lead. She doesn't like when I wander into the neighbors yard to say hi! But to be fair, I don't always listen to her to come back. I am working on it, though! I'm not the greatest fan of water even being a lab. So far, it's just not my thing.
