My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Addie is an approximately one year old Lab. mix(?) looking for her meant to be family. She is spayed, micro chipped, heartworm negative, appropriatly vaccinated and treated for parasites. This amazingly sweet girl was rescued from a ditch where she was nursing her babies.

Addie very much wants to be someone's best buddy. she doesn't like to be left outside and will work to get out of the fence and back to her person. She wants to be wherever her person is. She is fine to stay home alone, but likes to go on car rides.
Addie gets along fine with other dogs and indoor cats, but will chase anything that runs. She is hesitant with new people at first, but warms up when she's told they are OK.

Additional adoption info

We screen applicants to adopt a pet with an application form, interview, and veterinarian reference. We want all of our pets to be adopted into homes where they are with the family inside at night and during family time. Our adoption fee is $145 for dogs and $65 for cats. All animals offered for adoption have been spayed or neutered, and are up to date on vaccinations and parasite preventives. Cats have been tested for FIV, feline leukemia and heartworms. Dogs been tested for heartworms and treated if positive. All animals have had a microchip implanted. Adopters are required to sign an adoption agreement which includes a commitment to return the animal to the Hart County Humane Society at any time in the life of the animal if the adopter is unable or unwilling to keep and care for the animal, and not to give or sell the animal to anyone else.
