Otter here, paddling over and tell you a bit about myself! I am a very social boy who will love to curl around your legs and then into your lap. I like to talk, too-- but I won`t keep you up at night, promise! Playing with wand toys and laser pointers are some of my favorite hobbies. I don`t like to brag, but I`ve been told that if joyfully watching birds, dogs and squirrels out of my window was an Olympic sport, well I might just medal. Not much phases me, including kids and other cats-- I lived very happily with both. I also have started to enjoy walking around the shelter with my cat harness & leash, exploring nooks and crannies and generally being just adorable.
I`m 10 years young and very sadly was given to MaxFund because my guardian was working long hours and felt he no longer had much time to give me.
I am diabetic but please don`t let that deter you! I need twice/ daily insulin shots with a very small needle. This does not hurt me (easily goes into my scruff) and is given either right after I eat or while I`m eating. I make it easy because I`m very food motivated!! Our vet staff will show you how to give insulin. In fact, one of my friends, who is 76 years old, easily gives insulin to her cat!
I`d love for you to come meet me! In fact, I think you Otter ??
One more thing - check out the picture of me walking on a harness at the shelter. Yep, I`m allowing a volunteer to hold a leash while I lead her around with a harness on. I`m a pretty cool cat!

More about this shelter
The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.
The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
