Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Any Little Rascals fans out there? Check Petey!!
Isn't he the cutest dog you have ever laid your eyes on?? Petey is one wonderful, loving pup. He gives NON-STOP kisses and makes the cutest noise while he does b/c he smacks his nose with his tongue.
Petey is 9-10 months old and loves everybody he meets! He does well with cats and gets along better with female dogs than male dogs. He does not like sharing new bones or rawhides with other dogs. Other toys he doesn't mind sharing. He enjoys playing with Kongs stuffed with peanut butter or yogurt!
Petey loves to go for walks or car rides. He has a lot of puppy energy, but would make a wonderful family companion.
Petey found his way here after being abandoned in a backyard by people who moved and just left him and another dog there without any care for them what so ever!
Petey is currently about 22 inches high and 40 lbs.
We prefer Petey to be in an area that does not have any breed specific legislation against "pit bulls" and are willing to meet or ship to the right family. Pit Bull Terriers mature slowly and may not get along with other dogs as an adult; therefore, Petey will be placed as the only dog, or with a female dog only if the adopter has previous experience owning a "pit bull" breed and another dog at the same time.
Take 2 Rescue does not support breed specific regulations, but it is required that the adopter be aware of and comply with any laws in their area for owning a "pit bull" breed. Pit Bull Terriers can be headstrong, therefore a home that will obediance train this guy, using positive reinforcement, is mandatory.
