Meet Runtee! This handsome Shih Tzu is 11 years old and weighs in at 12lbs. He’s a gentle soul who was well-loved his whole life by his elderly owners. They got him as a puppy when he was just the runt of the litter and they did everything they could for him as long as they could. Unfortunately, they became hospice cases and could no longer care for Mr. Runtee. Runtee is visually impaired and doesn’t hear well, however he has developed a sixth sense which allows him to get around just like a normal dog! He likes to get comfortable on the couch and follow his person around, you would never guess he couldn’t see. Runtee loves his people dearly to the point he doesn’t like it when they leave. Call it separation anxiety if you want, but he just wants to have you around! Runtee is social with dogs & cats, but needs to be around other animals who are forgiving if he bumps into them. Even though Runtee is special needs, he deserves a loving home to live out the rest of his days! Our ideal home for Runtee includes:
🐭Kids 8+. We would prefer Runtee with mature kids who won’t leave the door open and will be gentle with him.
🐭No rambunctious or reactive dogs. Runtee is social, but shouldn’t be played with roughly.

Once we receive a completed application that is APPROVED, we will do a vet check. If everything goes well, then we will set up meet & greets. Just because you apply for a foster dog, that doesn’t mean you will be called in regards to your application.
Runtee is neutered, microchipped and current on all vaccinations, including Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, & Bordetella. He has also been fecal and heartworm tested.
