Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Spanky is located in TEXAS. He is available for adoption and transport to another state. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down here, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home.
Spanky came from a local dog pound. He got picked up and his people never came to get him (very common around here). Spanky is a Yorkshire Terrier (maybe a mix) weighing 15 pounds. He is very young, probably still under a year. We just had him neutered and he will eventually settle down as the testosterone subsides. Right now he has to dominate or challenge every other male dog. no matter how big they are. It has gotten him into trouble and we have had to save him several times. So we recommend that he not be allowed to interact with large male dogs. He also has to mark everywhere. He will wear a male wrap but rubs on everything trying to get it off. Again this will get better as the testosterone subsides.
That said. Spanky is a very friendly boy. He loves pets and attention and likes to sit on your lap or by your side. He is very playful and loves toys. He likes to play and wrestle with one of our other small spunky females. Spanky is crate-trained and otherwise well-behaved in the house. He walks well on a leash and comes when called. Spanky is good with other small dogs and would probably also do well with cats. Spanky is small and must be protected from rough treatment by children or big dogs that could hurt him. He must also be protected from raptors and other outdoor predators. Spanky will need to be groomed on a regular basis. The hair around his eyes and anus must be trimmed for sanitary reasons. Spanky must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and would like a fenced yard to run and play.
Spanky is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Spanky is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Spanky is available for out-of-state adoption only. His out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport, and he can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. He is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please send an email to 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this spirited little guy.
