My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grow your love with Rose!

Hey there! I'm Rose– the spotty charmer you've been searching for. At 4 years old and 50 lbs, I'm a Dalmatian mix with a heart full of love. I was rescued from the horrific conditions at ESLR in Ensenada, I'm now ready to blossom in my forever home.

I’m all about pawsitive vibes and get along famously with dogs and kids, making me the perfect addition to any dog-loving family. While I'm not a fan of cats (no offense, but they rub me the wrong way), I'm a fantastic listener and a cuddle connoisseur!

I’m mellow and easy-going, with just the right amount of energy for walks and car rides. I enjoy getting out but don’t need an excessive amount of exercise. When you're away, I might get a tad anxious and bark or scratch for more than 10 minutes—I'm a work-in-progress, but I promise to grow and bloom! I am timid when I meet new people and may appear standoffish. But I pawmise that I am just trying to get comfortable and will need patience to be your best friend.

Bathroom trained and with no health issues, I'm as fit as a fiddle. I am working hard on my leash training and mostly I walk fine. I do have leash reactivity that I am working on and some positive reinforcement and desensitization with other dogs will help me. I also get a bit carried away while playing and get rough. I am working on that and learning about space.

If you’re looking for a low-maintenance companion who’s easy to love– that's me! Since I’m such a friendly, laid-back gal, I’d do well in almost any home. A family with other dogs would be rosy, but as long as I have your love and company, I’ll keep my tail wagging! So what do you say? Pick this perfect Rose and brighten up your day!

My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
