My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pebbles, your rock-solid companion!

Hi, pals! My name is Pebbles. My name might sound a little rocky, but I’m a true diamond in the ruff! I’m a 2-year-old, 26-pound Puggle. I’m the perfect size and age to be your ultimate companion! I am spayed and a healthy girlie. I was recently rescued from the horror-story situation at ESLR in Ensenada. I’m so appreciative of my new chance at life and hope this Pebble can skip right on into a home with you!

I’m a sweet girl who loves love. I want to be your best friend and always accept pets from the humans I meet. I’m hesitant around new dogs and to be honest, I think I’m a bit jealous! When I first moved into my foster home I was not a fan of my furry sibling, but with some slow intros and pack walks, we became best buds! But I would still have a very slow intro and rather be the only dog at home. I would also rather be at an adults only home.

When I’m not playing with my foster sibling, I enjoy getting out for nice long walks. I’m slowly learning how to play with toys, too! Although I like getting exercise, I’m equally happy curled up next to you or basking in the sun. Give me some belly rubs I’m just the happiest. I get Cytopoint injections to help manage my allergies (cost will vary depending on the vet used and frequency needed).

I’m a very good girl who doesn’t have accidents inside. I do well exploring on the leash and also do fine in the house! My foster fam has left me for up to 5 hours and I never cause a fuss. I’m currently working on, “sit, down, and stay” and I’m making great progress. I’m treat motivated and can’t wait to show you my tricks!

My perfect furever family is one that will give me lots of love and cuddles. It would be best if I am the only pooch or one in a home that is willing to do a very slow introduction. I would prefer an all adults home. I’m a well-behaved gal with so much love and life to offer! If I sound like a rockin’ little lady to you, let’s meet!

My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
