My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pongo, the lovable Boxer mix whose appearance is as enchanting as his playful personality. From the first glimpse of him, it`s clear that Pongo is a truly special and eye-catching, with features that set him apart in the most endearing way. He is a true bundle of energy, always ready to engage in lively play sessions.

One of Pongo`s most endearing traits is his love for dancing around. When the mood strikes him, he bursts into an adorable dance, twirling and hopping as if he`s performing a joyful routine just for the sheer delight of it. Watching Pongo dance is a heartwarming sight that brings smiles to the faces of anyone lucky enough to witness his playful moves.

Pongo`s playful spirit is matched only by his affectionate nature. His capacity to express love and companionship makes him an ideal furry friend and a cherished member of his family.

Pongo`s adoption fee includes the neuter, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

If you’re interested in adopting Pongo, feel free to fill out an adoption application at www.tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet him first. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Go meet their pets

We do adoptions on the square in Dahlonega most weekends, attend various local events, have annual fundraisers, and our animals can be seen at the shelter any day from 10:00 - 4:30 (an hour for lunch from 12:00-1:00). Come by and see the new changes at the shelter as well, ask to volunteer, or just introduce yourself and meet the wonderful staff members.

More about this shelter

Established in 1977, TLC is one of the oldest no-kill shelters in North Georgia. Our shelter is on about six acres near the Lumpkin County shelter, and about five miles east of Dahlonega. Our focus is saving as many homeless pets as we can, and preventing the birth of unwanted pets. We have always relied on private donations to care for as many animals as we can.
