My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:3/12/2016

Description:

Hi there! I am Lady Bird and I am a spitfire if you ever met one. I try to be an independent woman but actually I really love human companionship. Since I have a sassy side, I am hoping for a family who will be patient with me while I learn to feel safe in your home. I do not like other kitties and will need a home where I am the only pet. I appreciate lots of love in short and frequent interactions. I will purr easily and be your bestie if you happen to toss a few treats my way. I am likely not going to live a long life and hope to be loved for all the days I am with you. If you are interested in taking a chance on me, I will be furr-ever grateful!

Words to Describe Me: Sassy, Talkative, Loving, Food-Motivated

Favorite Place to Sleep: Top of the Cat Tree

Favorite Toy: Soft little mouse

Perfect Day: A perfect day for Lady includes some chin scratches, a delicious treat, a scratch on the cat tree and a long nap

Kitty's Likes: ear rubs, chin scratches, long talks

Kitty's Dislikes: handled for too long

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Bring me a treat please!

Favorite Treat: Catnip flavored Greenies, canned salmon kitty food

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: Your best friend!

  • Good with Cats: Does not care for cats.

  • Good with Dogs: Does not care for dogs.

  • Good with Children: Does not care for children.

  • Companion Animal:Not necessary.

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.

Lady tested positive for        FeLV        therefore would need to be in a home with other FeLV kitties (or adopt one of the other FeLV kitties in the rescue).  Veterinary care will be provided by Saving One Life throughout her life.

Adoption Process:   Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. We require interested parties to apply prior to meeting to ensure a good match. Applications can be submitted on our website at  www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply.

Additional adoption info

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
