Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATE: July 20, 2023. Our Ms Dixie is now spayed and recovering in her foster home in the tri-cities. She will be ready to join her new family August 1st. Ms Dixie is looking for an active home that has raised and positively trained an active breed in the past. She would love to show off her border collie side and would excel at dog sports and even herding (once she's matured). A home located within the Vancouver Lower Mainland with a secure yard is preferred.
June 12, 2023. Ms Dixie has been in her foster home in the tri-cities for 2 weeks now and has settled in beautifully. She enjoys being with older, dog-savvy kids, other dogs and is respectful of the cat. She is great in crowds and greets strangers nicely. She will need to continue her leash training with her new family to reinforce good manners.
As a small rescue located within the Vancouver Lower Mainland, we are looking for a home locally as we are bock to preforming home visits again (since Covid). A detached home with a secure fence will be required. Ms Dixie is part border collie that likes to keep busy and loves learning new things. We can recommend a positive reinforcement trainer in your area if needed.
May 26, 2023. Ms Dixie made her way here from Yellowknife and she is happy she did! Ms Dixie has a rather sad story as all her litter-mates froze to death up North leaving her all by herself. She was very lucky and only lost part of her tail to frostbite. Dixie is happy to be alive and looking forward to her life in BC. She is 4 to 5 months old and described as friendly, smart and outgoing. Please email crossourpaws@gmail.com for details and application. FOSTER to ADOPT! ??
