Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Clarice’s Backstory:
Clarice was dropped off at animal control when her family decided they were going to make a move out of state and didn’t want to take her with them. Animal control contacted us directly and asked if we could help her. The drop-off had nothing to do with Clarice. She is delightful and sweetness personified. But her family didn’t understand what it meant to commit for life to a loving and deserving dog. So, it’s up to us to right this wrong and find a family ready to love her unabashedly, just like she’s ready to do for them!
Breed and Hair Notes:
Clarice has hair that grows and not fur. She is a stunning Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso blend. Her black nose amidst her creamy tan hair is perfection. PLEASE NOTE: her hair will grow indefinitely, and she will need professional grooming every 4-6 weeks. Only apply if you understand the additional maintenance and cost that these dear hair-not-fur souls need and are willing to commit to life for such care.
Get to Know Clarice:
Clarice is an adult lady at approximately 5-6 years of age, and she currently weighs approximately 24 pounds. She was left out dry kibble to eat at her former home, and she was allowed to eat too much. She needs to start walking to lose a few pounds and gain strength. She goes potty on pads indoors but goes outside, too. She is smart, and she can be trained depending upon where you’d like her to go potty.
Clarice enjoys going outside and is learning how to walk on a leash. She will need teaching and encouragement to master it.
Ideal Home:
Clarice is more laid back than the younger dogs currently in our care. She still has energy and enjoys playing, but she’s chill in comparison to a puppy! She is a lady who knows who she is, and she loves a good daily nap. She enjoys the company of people, and she’s ready to be your sidekick 24/7.
If you expect to put Clarice in a crate at all during the day or night, please do not apply. Clarice will flourish in a home where she can hang out with her people during the day and sleep with them at night. People who work from home most of the time or retired people are an ideal match.
Clarice can successfully be in a home where she is the only dog, provided she continues to get socialization by going on daily walks and meeting/being around other dogs. She currently lives in a foster home with multiple dogs and cats, so she can also be in a home with other gentle animals. She should NOT be in a home with young children. Only respectful teenagers and adults should be in her family.
Are you ready to show this lady what a loving and committed family looks like? If so, we forward to receiving your adoption application!
