Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Charly is a 1 yr old female mix that came to us as an owner turn in when her owner had to move to a place where they would not allow dogs. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines, also microchipped.
Charly is an absolute sweetheart! She plays with everyone and every dog she meets and gives kisses to everyone all day long. She presents her belly easily and does not have an aggressive bone in her body. She is a long-legged, soft-furred beauty who is loved by all she meets.
She goes to bed when told and sleeps well through the night if she is near another dog, or you. She wakes up very energetic and settles in after a good morning walk. She will get the 'zoomies' throughout the day, either when playing with another dog, or with her many toys. She should have a large enough yard so she can do this as it is her favorite activity. She is not interested in a pool except as a large drinking bowl.
She was hesitant about new noises such as the Roomba vacuum, office printer and the trash truck. But after a couple of days, she accepted the Roomba and the printer. The trash truck is still a concern to her.
She isn't a picky eater, but is using a slow eating bowl, just to help her finish closer to the other older dogs in her foster's pack. She takes her treats like a lady.
Because she's a long-legged, energetic gal, she could easily knock over the elderly or little ones, so older kids and an athletic household would be best.
She isn't destructive, except for rough housing with her many toys. But she does seem to like finding some wood to chew on: exposed tree roots, clothespins. But drops them when asked.
She sniffs the counter if there is any food, but so far, has been a good girl. She's very responsive to basic commands: 'stop', 'sit', and 'no'. She wants to be right there with you but will lie down when told.
She's has been fostered with two 14-year-old rescue girls that have put up with her attempts at playing and are not too perturbed by her anymore! She is respectful of them but will try to engage.
