My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fenced yard required

If you need a pick-me-up or are looking for some fun, meet Erza. Her exuberance is very contagious. This lovely lady has not had an easy life, so the only explanation we have for her disposition is that her beautiful, slender frame is made up of pure love and joy.

She is crate trained, but we haven't felt the need to use one as she's been a perfect houseguest. She lets us know when she needs out. She doesn't snack off of counters or tables. She loves her treats and toys but doesn't chew on anything she shouldn't. She has a lot of energy and needs a safe place to run and play, but as long as she gets exercise, she's happy to just hang out or, better yet, have a nice cuddle.

Her favorite sleeping position is on her back, paws up. Erza often falls asleep in what we like to cal the "upside down Superman pose." She loves people and other dogs, doesn't try to eat the chickens, though she does find them entertaining to follow when they get all excited, and thinks goats are pretty neat. She loves car rides and has been in several businesses and was always on her best behavior. She may be a little much for small children but does great with anyone bigger than her. She would make a wonderful addition to any home that can give her the energy outlets she needs. We feel anyone who decides to give her the forever home she deserves will be very fortunate in deed.

If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.

Erza’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
