Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Toad! He is a 3 year old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix looking for a loving home that wants to give him the attention he's been craving. Until he came to HFD, Toad had a hard life being shuffled from home to home for no reason. He was discarded at animal control without a second glance, and we are committed to finding him a place where he will be loved and wanted.
Toad is a happy boy that loves and adores his people. He will snuggle in your lap while you watch TV and at bedtime he will get all comfy next to you and sleep all night next to you. He does seem to have a little separation anxiety when his person leaves and will whine and cry for a bit. (Who can blame him after being dumped?) Due to this he wouldn’t do well in an apartment or condo.
Toad loves to play ball and run around the yard with the other dogs in his foster home. So if you have a playful friendly dog in your home he would enjoy that. A secure fenced yard would be best.
We did discover that Toad does not do well with children and requires an adult only household. So if you have kids at your home often, Toad is not the dog for you.
He is neutered, vaccinated with distemper/parvo, bordetella and rabies vaccines, heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention and microchipped. We had a dental done on him already due to his teeth already showing signs of neglect. His adoption fee is $475.
He is fostered in the south suburbs of Chicago. If you'd like to meet Toad, please head over to http://www.heathersfosterdogs.org and click on "Adoption Application" to submit your app online. Please note, we cannot set up a meet and greet without an application on file first.
Toad looks forward to meeting you!
