Amarillo’s previous owners took him in because they thought he would be a small sized dog. When Amarillo started to grow, they kicked him out to the rooftop where he spent his days tied up on a rope, he was then. After that, he was abandoned on the streets of Mexico to fend for himself.

Amarillo has learned how to sit and wait for his food. Once the food is placed on the floor, it’s good to give Amarillo some space so he can eat. In order to get a treat, he has to be sitting or waiting in a calm manner. Amarillo is able to coexist with other dogs and eat with other dogs who are two or three meters away. It is good to continue these exercises so Amarillo can continue his progress. Amarillo has been through a lot and has slowly gained back his trust for humans and other dogs. He has become an incredibly loving, playful and caring dog who allows people to pet him, bathe him and interact playfully with him.

He prefers male dogs to female ones. He is still highly aware of food and will follow you around when he sees you carrying some, but nowadays, Amarillo reacts calmly and knows he has to sit and wait. He respects other dogs when eating and will not react when he sees others being fed. He is an obedient and smart dog who understands commands and lives for human attention.

This boy loves toys and will love to be spoiled by a warm family who is patient and caring. Please take a chance on this loving boy! He has been through so much, and he just deserves a chance at happiness. Amarillo is currently in Mexico waiting for his forever Canadian family to scoop him up!
