Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LESLIE is a beautiful female calico who was found when police were notified that she was abandoned on the side of the road, in a not so big carrier, with a kitten and a orange male cat named BRUTUS. She is very friendly, loves humans, easy to care for. Just a very sweet soul. Leslie is here waiting for a home and being mean to the others, but its not all the time like BRUTUS,so if by chance you're thinking about two cuties, her and BRUTUS love one another. But I already have an adult pair that has been here for 6 months (CYRUS and MONA) and I already know adult pairs are nearly impossible to get adopted but they are a super cute pair. BRUTUS is the cute orange male. Cats always ADAPT to their family so don't feel bad adopting one or the other. There's more still outside waiting to get rescued is how I look at it but I do want to " throw it out there for them"
LESLIE is FULLY VETTED -so she is spayed, dewormed , 2 FVRCP, rabies, microchipped, and combo tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

,,,,,,,A little bit about me, my rescue is on the 2nd-3rd floors of my Pittsburgh home. Once I get the kitties fully vetted, I let them be free to play and snuggle as they wish. So if you want to come and visit call, text or email. Picking a companion animal is easier in person, then it is from a photo. Plus, I don't take the best photos.
I live with the cats so I am very familiar with their personalities. Here you get a more personal experience. Each one of these cats has a heart wrenching backstory that I wish was not true. That struggle is what brought them here to be rescued from that life -to be given a chance at another.....
Vetting fees have also gone up a lot, just like everything else in the world (except our paychecks). The little bit of money we make off of adoptions goes right back into the mix to help the next stray in need. From the adoption of the adult cats, we break even and most of the time, if we are lucky. I do not get the funding like the big nonprofits so adopting from me supports what we do...TNR for local feral cats that are unsociable & pulling who we can from the streets of Pittsburgh, get them fully vetted and into loving homes. The other big shelter around here mostly takes cats from inside of homes, I give the other ones outside, still in the trenches, a chance.
If you are on Tik Toc follow us @saveourstrays.pgh and see some of the amazing rescues I have done and follow to see who I save next!
Save Our Strays uses some of our profits and donations to get surgeries done for cats that have no one to pay to get them spayed/neutered (TNR). Our first 2.5 years we sterilized over 100 community cats, preventing 1000s of them from being born outside.
If you are interested in any of the cats, please call & leave a voicemail or send a text .412 863 0064. I do not have a long application process, just call and talk to me to set up an appointment to meet n greet the kitties. I am always available via phone with any questions you might have, even down the road.
