Hi, I’m Dodger! My siblings and I came from a local farm. Our mom was trapped and spayed, and now she’s back enjoying life on the farm, but I’d prefer an INDOOR life - I just need to find the PURRfect family!
I am still timid, and not quite sure of humans. But….my helpers have noticed that I will quietly seem to show up wherever they are, and watch them intently, so I am definitely interested! If they notice I’ve gotten close to them, I get a little conflicted, and gently bat at their hand (without claws!) if they reach out for me. My people aren’t quite sure if this is an attempt to connect or if I am saying “back up please,” but they suspect that I really want to connect behind my fear.
I enjoy ball track toys quite a lot, and I’m pretty interested in wand toys. I like food quite a bit and I will come running when I hear cans opening! I don't meow often, but when I'm hungry, I will use my sweet little voice to alert you that it's mealtime. Toys and food are the way to crack my code!
I have a sweet side, and in the right home with very patient experienced adopters, who are willing to start me out in a small space where I can’t just hide from them, I think I will be able to overcome my fear and form a true, lasting connection. BUT, I need adopters who understand that while I can be a good companion and hang out with you, I am not likely to ever become a lap cat. If you’re looking for a Velcro kitty, I’m not your guy, but if you’re looking for a cat that’s shy but chill, enjoys other kitties, and is content just to hang out nearby, let’s meet!

We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.
We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.
We require a donation of $120 for adoption of unaltered kittens with a PTV Contract. All kittens receive vaccine series and wormings as well as medical treatment as needed. The adopter is responsible for obtaining their rabies vaccine and spay/neuter if the kitten is not of age at the time of adoption. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.
We ask a donation of $25 to adopt Career/barn cats.
We require a donation of at least $140 for adoption of Spayed/neutered cat.
Bonded pairs adoption donation is $200.
Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!

More about this rescue
Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce feral cat population in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens for adoption into loving forever homes. We are a VDACS registered 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014 with over 60 foster homes.
Our heart is in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return of ferals), where cats are fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped, and allowed to live out their lives without reproducing. We are advocates for advancing legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads. Our unique feral kitten socialization program has a 90% success rate in socializing feral-born kittens to become loving, in-home pets.
We are always seeking fosters, volunteers, transporters, and trappers to join our team!
We also appreciate donations! Find our most needed items
