Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LOTTA
✨
🐶 Age 8 months
🌍 Location: Lake Tahoe NV
💙 Female
😎 Breed: coonhound/corgi mix/Jack Russell? (guessing)
📏 Size: Medium
⚖ Weight: 34 lbs
💃Energy: Calm but playful. She takes a siesta during the day.
🐶Dog Friends: Yes, happy and loving being surrounded by dogs
👧🏽 Children Friends: Yes – it’s a definitely yes.
⛓Leash etiquette: Yes, good on the leash.
🥘 Resource
Happily share toys and we have to watch over food a little but they eat with other dogs perfectly fine.
Still in the process of learning commands, but she typically responds immediately when directed.
LOTTA enjoys being outside and is still learning to behave inside but she quickly settles down.
She is independent, yet responsive to eye contact, a joyful greeting, and a long pet and belly rub. She will lie happily at your feet, once she stops licking them!
📣 Bark/noisy: She does like to bark at people or dogs walking by but she is not excessive. She is learning and stops immediately when called.
🏡 Housebroken: Yes, but she will need some work in a new environment
🚙 Good in car: Yes, calm in the car
📚RESCUE STORY
They were rescued outskirts Cancun with their siblings.
4 of them just being small puppies.
She arrived at Lake Tahoe a couple of days ago from the Cancun shelter and I (their foster) am getting to know them.
What I have learned about Lotta so far: She is aware of her surroundings and lets me know when someone is out there. She is subservient but not shy. I believe that she would be the type of dog who is unafraid to protect her humans, should it become necessary. That said, she is friendly to all she meets and is not overly protective. She will accept her new family as her "pack" quite quickly and settle in to being the best possible dog.
I would recommend formal training. If we are right about the breed, she is a working dog and will need stimulation to keep her from getting bored (and into trouble). We are looking for active people, willing to give this dog a busy, active and beautiful life.
We rescue dogs from the streets of Cancun, rehabilitate, socialize and make them ready to be great pets. They have much love to give. We spend a lot of time with our animals, making them ready for homes and ensure that they are as healthy as possible. The adoption fee covers PART of our expenses.
Our animals are special--they have known nothing but love during our time with them.
We are reducing our adoption fee to stimulate more interest and to make room for more dogs. If you can give us our original fee of $600, it would be MUCH appreciated. Even that does not cover all of our expenses so the more you can give, the more dogs we can help.
