Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Darling, our 10 year old 56 pound pit bull, was found tied up outside of a store in Portland. Sadly, her owner never came for her so the shelter reached out to us for help. She was a staff favorite due to her sweet, friendly personality and we were glad to take her in. We're hoping she can also charm her way into a forever home!
Since we've had Darling, we removed several lumps. The pathology report showed that they were Mast Cell tumors, a common type of skin cancer, but they were low grade and the surgery was curative. Darling had to lose of couple of broken teeth, but she's since recovered from her dental and surgeries.
Darling has been a very good house guest. She is crate trained and prefers to be in her crate when left alone. Darling does best when given time to decompress and space from new dog friends. When properly introduced, Darling is very good with other dogs. Darling would likely do fine with a dog savvy cat.
Darling is good on a leash and very food motivated. She enjoys spending time with her people and is snuggly and affectionate. She knows several commands already and is smart so would likely be happy to learn more.
Darling is microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
We wish we knew how Darling ended up tied to a pole. Although we'll never understand, we do know that someone will be very lucky to have Darling in their lives. Think you can give this girl the break she deserves? Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
