Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ocean makes a great bed partner - but is not interested in sharing his bed (or home) with other cats or dogs. He was born in the summer of 2019. He also enjoys keeping an eye on things from up high or with his eyes closed while sleeping on the couch (preferably next to you). If you have ever had a cat before that attempts to trick you into rubbing its belly to test your reflexes when the claws come out, this is Ocean. Best advice: Don't fall for it. Ocean enjoyed snuggling in bed with a child in his previous home, but when allergies took over some humans, he came to live in a great MCSPCA foster home where he loves exploring on perches made just for cats. He likes his foster mom, but would really prefer to be in a home with no other cats or dogs. Ocean needs a quiet home with a human to call his own (adult or child) who will snuggle with him in bed or on the couch, who understands the rule about belly rubs, and who can let Ocean do his own thing or snuggle depending on his mood. Ocean was born in the summer of 2019.
To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat either virtually or in person in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
