Spotlight on CC: The Longest Resident Ready for a Second Chance ????
Meet CC, our longest-resident pup at NHS who’s been waiting patiently for over a year to find her forever home. This beautiful female, young large breed mix is ready to bring her vibrant energy and loving spirit to a new family who can offer her the fresh start she deserves.
With her stunning caramel coat and boundless enthusiasm, CC is a standout presence. She’s a playful girl who loves to run and frolic in the yard, and her favorite pastime is showering everyone with kisses and hugs. The staff here adore her for her smarts and her joyful nature, and they believe she would be a fantastic addition to an active couple or family.
CC does have a bit of a sensitive side when it comes to men and would need a bit of extra time to feel comfortable with them. She would thrive best in a home with a stable environment where there aren’t constant visitors coming and going.
If you’re ready to offer CC the loving home she’s been waiting for, come meet her today. She’s eager to share her boundless affection and playful spirit with a family that can provide the love and stability she needs.

More about this shelter
Northshore Humane Society is one of Louisiana's largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organizations. Since 1953, we have been serving the neglected and abandoned animals of the Northshore region. We are an independent, non-governmental rescue that offers veterinary care, fostering, adoption, and more. We rely solely on the support of caring people like you to fund our programs and services which profoundly benefit the animals of our community. Thank you for all of your support!
Our Mission:
To be the premier organization dedicated to enhancing and saving the lives of pets in the Northshore region through community engagements, adoption, spay and neuter programs, and sheltering.
Our Vision:
To lay the foundation for a no-kill nation. To learn more about a no-kill nation, we suggest visiting www.nokilladvocacycenter.org.
What We Do:
Adoptions: Each year, we rescue, care for and find loving homes for homeless animals in our community.
Veterinary Care:
Our community clinic provides excellent veterinary care to both our rescue pets and to beloved family pets. All funds raised through our clinic directly impact the care of the homeless animals of our rescue.
Foster:
Our foster families open their homes to homeless animals who are too young, sick or scared to be immediately adopted.
Volunteer:
Hundreds of volunteers take on a variety of tasks to help care for and promote our animals, assist administration, and represent NHS at community events, allowing more time for our staff to do their jobs efficiently.
Low-Cost Pet Health:
Through grant and corporate partners, we are able to provide a variety of low-cost pet care to people in need. These include low-cost spay/neuter opportunities, microchipping, vaccinations and more!
