My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My personality: Insecure but friendly and sweet.

My story: At the tender age of two months, my brother and I found ourselves struggling to survive on the streets and ended up skinny and weak. I was too young to remember how we ended up so alone and unwell, but luckily a kind local found us and reported us to Soi Dog. Upon entry, the vets noticed I was having difficulty using by hind legs, so they performed some different surgeries to help. Don't worry though, I've recovered from all that now and, although I do have my own special squatting walk as a result, I’ve adapted well and enjoy walkies.

My needs: My brother left the shelter to join his new family last year, but since I'm more of a sensitive soul, I needed some extra support from the behaviour team before I was ready to follow in his pawsteps. Although it still takes me a bit of time to get to know strangers, I enjoy making new friends nowadays and, once I do, I let them see the real quirky and sweet me. I'd like a home with a family who understands that I may need a bit of time to settle in and show them what a great family member I can be. Although I do enjoy going for walkies, the vets here advise that I take it easy due to my past medical issues. If you can offer me the life I'm searching for, please don't hesitate to let the adoptions team know so they can get started on getting me home to you.

DISCLAIMER: I am located at Soi Dog in Phuket, Thailand. Soi Dog charges no adoption fee for me and I have been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters simply need to cover the cost of my travel crate, flight(s), and Rabies Titer Test (RTT).

If you are interested in adopting me, then please inquire for further details. I woof really love it!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Soi Dog has the pet for you, whether you're looking for a dog or cat, young or senior, we will guide you through the adoption process to find the right match for your family. Thai dogs make extremely loyal and loving pets, in particular, dogs saved from tough lives on the streets and from the illegal dog meat trade, who seem to understand they've been given a second chance.

Adopting from us is one of the most effective ways to support our work as each adoption means we can free up space to help another animal in need. It’s also very meaningful to give a dog/cat the chance to feel the love and security they so desperately deserve.

Adopting a dog/cat is a fairly simple process and we take care of everything. Soi Dog charges no adoption fee and all our dogs/cats are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters simply need to cover the cost of the travel crate, flight(s), and Rabies Titer Test (RTT).

Please note, according to CDC regulations, any animal traveling to the US is required to have a blood sample taken for the RTT and wait 45 days from the time the sample is collected before they are allowed to travel. The animal would be able to travel with a Flight Volunteer, if available, or through Cargo.

More about this shelter

Soi Dog Foundation is a not-for-profit, legally registered charitable organization in Thailand, the United States, Australia, the UK, France, Holland, Canada and Switzerland. Soi Dog helps the homeless, neglected and abused dogs and cats of Thailand, works to end the dog meat trade throughout the region, and responds to animal welfare disasters and emergencies. We aim to set an example for the Asian region on how to humanely reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats through spaying and neutering, and to better the lives and living conditions of the stray dogs and feral cats of Asia.

Soi Dog’s mission is to improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Asia, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to create a society without homeless animals, and to ultimately end animal cruelty.

Soi Dog Foundation is fighting the Asian dog meat trade and thanks to overwhelming support from people like you, the trade has been almost completely wiped out in Thailand. We continue to campaign for an end to the trade, and carry out rescue operations in the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, South Korea and other Southeast Asian countries where it is prevalent.

Soi Dog promotes the welfare of dogs and cats for the benefit of the public by rescuing stray, abandoned, abused or surrendered animals and providing them with shelter/foster homes, food, and medical care, and by facilitating an animal adoption program for these animals.

We find permanent homes for rescued and homeless dogs and cats, providing guidance and support for the adopters, and follow up work including emergency help.
