Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This stunning looker is Purl and she had a tough start to life. She was originally born as a feral kitten, and when she was a few months old she and her sister were found in the woods. The person who found them thought she'd keep them, but wasn't familiar with how to socialize feral kittens, so they spent months living in a rabbit cage on her porch. Fortunately, when she realized that they weren't making any progress socially, the kittens were surrendered to rescue so that they could start on the path to a new life. Purl's sister has already found her home, and now it's Purl's turn.
This lovely kitty is only about 10 months old and has turned into a really sweet girl. Due to her traumatic past, it does take her time to warm up to new people and become comfortable in new environments, but once she's settled Purl is a very gentle and extremely sweet little girl. When her foster mom goes into her room, Purl runs to the top of the scratching post for love. She's not yet very comfortable with being picked up or carried around, but that may come with time. Right now, her favourite thing to do is to roll around on top of her post and get rubs.
As you can see, Purl has a long, fuzzy coat, and in reality her coat is even wispier than it looks in photos. She absolutely needs someone who is willing to brush her regularly, so that Purl's coat doesn't become matted. Her coat is so fine that it's almost like human hair in some ways. Purl 's coat is NOT allergy friendly.
Purl is a very gentle cat. She does not like to wrestle and is not rough and tumble. She needs a quiet home with an experienced cat mom or dad who will go at Purl's pace and give her all of the love that she deserves. She would probably be OK with a quiet teen, but overall she needs a home with a calm vibe, not a busy family home.
Although it took a little while for Purl to become comfortable with people, she has always found a lot of comfort in other cats. During the time she's been in foster care she has been with a number of other cats, from calm adults to playful kittens, and she has gotten along well with all of them. Therefore, we would really like to see Purl go to a home with at least 1 or 2 other cats that will be her friends and show her the ropes. Ideally, she'd prefer a friend that will hang out and cuddle with her over one that will wrestle. She's happy to play, but wrestling isn't really her thing; she's much to dainty for that. It's a bit tough to tell in photos, but Purl is a small cat, and although she looks like a dilute tortoiseshell cat, she has white on her so is actually a calico.
Purl's foster home has a few cat-savvy dogs, and she's been fine with them. She doesn't seek them out, and doesn't really interact or cuddle with them, but she's not afraid of them. She would be fine to be in a home with cat-friendly dogs, as long as there are also cats to be her friends.
