Sugar was brought to the shelter as a “stray” along with another puppy believed to be her sister. Neither of the puppies were special needs, so we aren’t sure why the shelter begged us to take them. We would have liked to get them adopted together, but we couldn’t find a foster home that would take both so we separated them. Spice, her sister was adopted by her foster family and Sugar is still looking for a forever home. Here is what her foster mom writes about her:
“At just 5 lbs. and 5 mos., Sugar is the sweetest puppy with ears that are bigger than her whole face. Despite being the smallest of her foster sisters, she is playful, affectionate, and courteous. She even gives kisses to her 60 lb. 3 yr. old foster brother. Sugar is crate trained and knows to go outside for bathroom time. When it is time to go to bed, she politely goes into her crate. She loves having other dogs to play with but also enjoys her alone time, watching the others as they play. Sugar is great with toys and prizes herself at getting the biggest one and "lugging" it around. Sugar loves mellow music and a nice comfortable "poofy" bed.”
We think Sugar would do better in a home with another playful young dog her size.
Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.
