Sully, 7 months (estimated DOB 12/2022), neutered male, Shepherd mix, currently 30 pounds, expected to be a medium size dog when full grown. He is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas and can transport to an approved adopter.
The dog crisis in Texas is so great, that even puppies like this guy are at risk of euthanasia. He was brought in as a stray to the county shelter and due to space, released for euthanasia. A wonderful woman saw him and offered to foster to save his life.
Sully is your typical puppy who is active and energetic. He will need a home who is willing to provide physical outlets- walks, runs, backyard time (if have a yard) or having another dog playmate. He can play hard and is looking for another dog closer to his size or larger who is comfortable with puppy play. There is a senior dog and small dogs in his foster home- neither want to play with him and he responds well to his foster mom's commands.
He shares a home with cats and does bark at them and tries to engage them in play. He is learning to ignore them, but it is a work in progress. He shares a home with a one year old, 6 year old and a teenager. He does wonderful with the kid and does not jump on them.
Sully is housebroken and alerts his foster mom when he needs to go out. He does well in his crate and is crated when unsupervised.
He is extremely smart and eager to learn. He will do wonderful in a home who is looking to invest some time in basic obedience. He rides well in a car. Like a lot of puppies, he does love to chew and would do best with chew toys, bones, toys etc.
He has come a long way in his foster home already and we are looking for a home who will continue to provide structure and consistency. He will need a home who is looking for an energetic puppy. He is loving and affectionate.
