My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************

Ronnie, 1 years old, neutered male, Plott Hound/Staffordshire Terrier mix (best guess), 47 pounds. He is located in a foster home in Houston, Texas and can transport to an approved adopter.

Ronnie's foster mom has nicknamed him Charlie :) We can't tell you enough amazing things about this guy.

He shares a home with several other dogs of various sizes and energy levels. He is really balanced in his playstyle. He can adjust based on the dog, but he does prefer to play with the dog that matches him in size, as opposed to the 2 smaller ones. He loves to play but does it in nice little spurts throughout the day. His play style is not overwhelming at all. He initiates the play and he likes to wrestle and run around. He does pick up when another dog is no longer interested in play. If there is another dog in the home, we recommend one who likes to play and will engage in a similar playstyle.

He has not had any issues when meeting other dogs. He is excited to say hello and pulls in their direction, but does not bark or have any negative reactions.

We have no history with cats or kids. Based on his temperament and friendly demeanor we would recommend a home with kids 10 years and older.

"Charlie" is great walking on leash when it's just him. If walking with his pack, he tends to be a bit all over checking things out or following one of the other dogs as they are sniffing. It usually takes him about 5 minutes to fall into rhythm and then walks with a loose leash.

He is fully housebroken and crate trained. He sleeps in a crate at night. His foster mom works from home, so he is usually out free roaming during the day. He has not shown any resource guarding of anything.

We think he would do great in a home with some physical exercise. He really enjoys his walks, but is also fine chilling on the couch all day. His foster mom takes him a few short walks throughout the day. He likes hanging out in the backyard too. Although a fenced yard is not required, he may enjoy having that extra space. We think he would really like a dog playmate, but not absolutely necessary.

He loves playing with all toys and loves a good game fetch. He is working on the dropping part, but loves bringing it near you or putting it in your hands to let you know he's ready to play. He loves a good cuddle! He loves curling himself up in a tight ball and leaning his body against your legs. He also loves meeting new people and has never met a stranger he doesn't love. He also rides well in the car.

We think he is a really well balanced dog all around. He is looking for a home with some physical outlets. He is a love bug and would love a home that includes him in many activities.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
