Here's what the humans have to say about me:
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
Zorro, 1.5 years old, neutered male, Chihuahua/Terrier mix, 11 pounds. He is in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS and can transport to an approved adopter.
Zorro and two of his friends were rescued from a hoarding situation (estimated 18 other dogs in the home). He is very shy at first and will try to avoid hanging out with humans. It has taken him a few days to start to feel comfortable and show his personality. He needs a home who is understanding of patience and allow him time to figure out a new routine.
He is very sweet and has never acted negatively or mean to anyone. He does need another small dog in the home, as he really receives confidence/comfort from having another small dog. He will engage in play or curl up next to his friends.
He is a "nester" and will find a blanket to burrow inside of. It's really very cute. He is very sweet and once he warms up, loves to cuddle. He sleeps in bed all night with his foster parents. He has been around small kids and did fine. We recommend a home with kids who understand and respect animal boundaries.
As noted, he has been around other dogs and will do best with dogs smaller in size. The larger dogs make him a little nervous and he tends to shy away to his crate. He is potty trained and loves his crate. This is very much his safe place and he will hang out in there throughout the day.
Zorro is low/moderate energy. He is not "hyper" but does have some energy. He is walking well on leash and stays close to his foster mom. He does not need a fenced yard, but will need some physical outlets.
We have no history with cats.
