Happily shares toys, but not very playful, and we have to watch over food, she likes to eat alone.

She needs reinforcement when talked with comments most probably because she never got any words of love.
She is very obedient when spoken to.

Mara is perfect for families with a yard, and long walks. She will wander if left unattended and will need some training. It's possible that she is hard of hearing and does not appear to listen when you call her (except loudly). Not certain of this, trying to determine, but it also could be selective listening!

📚RESCUE STORY
She was rescued from an other rescuer and surrendered to Paws in Action. Found in the bushes, very long hair and a total mess. Probably with many litters in her lifetime, we had to remove few tumors from her nipples and always has to be checked upon.
She has been at the Paws in Action shelter in Cancun for several months, living with the outdoor pack. Her nipples were enlarged and have been removed. Her belly seems tender when we pick her up so her new family will want to keep an eye on that.
She is such a sweet dog. She has probably given birth many times and she scrapped for herself and her babies on the streets. She is ready for a quiet life, with loving people. And she deserves it! Despite what she's been through, she is always cheerful. We call her the "mom" of the pack. She's amazing.

We rescue dogs from the streets of Cancun, rehabilitate, socialize and make them ready to be great pets.
They have much love to give. We spend a lot of time with our animals, making them ready for homes and ensure that they are as
healthy as possible. The adoption fee covers PART of our expenses.
Our animals are special--they have known nothing but love during our time with them.

We are reducing our adoption fee to stimulate more interest and to make room for more dogs.
If you can give us our original fee of $500, it would be MUCH appreciated. We are willing to work with people on the adoption fee.
Even that does not cover all of our expenses so the more you can give, the more dogs we can help.
