Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Houdini is a different dog than the escape artist who first came to DC SIR from a Midwest puppy mill! She started off more fearful but has really grown brave and confident in foster care. She is curious about everything and will approach new people if she sees the braver resident dogs do so. She loves mealtime and dances around on her hind legs when her foster mom brings meals.
Houdini loves to be outside or to relax on the couch with her foster family. She excitedly wiggles her butt and gives her foster mom kisses when she gets home from work. Houdini is great with body handling. She loves to be pet and will lean into her foster mom to let her know she wants pets. She allows her foster mom to pick her up and carry her when needed and doesn’t try to wriggle out of her arms. Houdini walks so well on leash- as you don’t try to end the walk before she is ready. If you do- you will have to carry her home. Sometimes loud noises startle Houdini, but she is adjusting to normal ‘house’ noises like the AC condenser and vacuums. These sounds once sent her running for the hills, but now she doesn’t seem to mind. Houdini knows how to walk up and down all kinds of stairs and is a pro at it. Houdini will do great in a home with another friendly dog to show her the ropes- or as an only dog with a family that understands dog body language and can tell when she is nervous and not do too many new and scary things with her as she adjusts to her new home.
