My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE
5PM TUESDAY 10/22/24

Please come down to PACC to meet with him. He will need to be pulled by a partnered rescue, but PACC can help connect you with a rescue if you do not find one on your own.

Behavioral Challenges: Hundo has a bite history and shows reactive tendencies when startled or in stressful situations. He needs a home that can manage his environment carefully. He’s assertive with other dogs and has a tendency to mount, but responds to corrections. He is not yet altered and this behavior may improve, but is recommended to meet any dogs in a home before leaving the shelter. He’s treat-motivated and enjoys spending time with people, so will likely pick-up on new training quickly.

Personality: Despite these challenges, Hundo is extraordinarily loving. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves being close, whether it’s snuggling on the couch or going for car rides. Fully house-trained, Hundo is a smart dog who thrives on routine and structure. His calm and easy-going nature makes him a great companion once he feels comfortable, and he’s always eager to please. Playtime is one of Hundo’s favorite activities—he adores chew toys and tennis balls, and he enjoys outdoor walks where he can explore new places. Being treat-motivated, he’s responsive to training and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement. While he has an active side, he’s just as happy relaxing by your side, making him an ideal match for someone who enjoys a balance of activity and downtime.

What Hundo Needs:
• Experienced Adopter/Foster: Hundo’s ideal home would be with someone experienced with reactive dogs, who can go slow with handling and provide positive reinforcement training.
• Safe, Structured Environment: Hundo needs a quiet home where he can feel secure and avoid stressors. Muzzle training is recommended, and introductions to new people and pets should be carefully managed.

Your help could make all the difference for Hundo—he’s a great dog in need of the right fit. If you or someone you know might be able to give Hundo the stable home he needs, please come to PACC to meet him!
