My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lobo!
Lobo was extremely shy when he came to us. He hid out underneath the settee for at least 3 days. I had to leave his food for him under there so he would eat. He would come out to drink at night. But I did wiggle him out of there twice a day and put him outside to go potty. However, now he runs up and down the stairs, sleeps in the bed, and loves TREATS!!

When he is by me he will growl at Frank but when he is alone with Frank he lets him pet him and will take treats from him. He has some interest in toys and loves chews. Lobo has come a long way toward conquering his shyness. With him, as with a lot of rescue dogs, it is time and patience and LOVE.

He was turned into the VCA hospital by a former family member who said they could no longer take care of him. They gave little background information on him besides his original owner moving back to Mexico. In the beginning, he was marking, but every time I saw him lift his leg, I would tell him NO! Then take him outside. This should hopefully stop now that he is neutered.

However, I do believe now that part of the reason he was surrendered was because he does have separation anxiety. SO PLEASE he needs to live in a house. Not an apartment or townhome or condo. This is due to his barking when his people leave. As he settles in and becomes used to his routine this will improve. He just needs a chance to adjust and grow into his new home.

He is a slightly picky eater, but I think that is because he is still not comfortable eating around all of the pack. He likes to eat alone by himself. Sometimes he shows indifference to food, but LOVES people food!! Also due to his nature, not a good fit for homes with small children. No children under the age of 12.

LOVES snuggling
LOVES having his ears scratched
LOVES belly rubs
Sleeps with me
