My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am currently cared for by a Disabled Army Veteran. Earlier this year, he received me following the death of my previous owner, a retired Haskell professor. He helped her move into Assisted Living in Lawrence, KS in October and since she had no family, he visited her once a month and came to know me. Upon her death, he accepted me into his home as I responded favorably to him. Recently, his housing manager (Price Brothers) informed him that I (and my brother Sage needed to leave as he had no approved pet addendum. Unfortunately, kindness comes at a cost. His original plan was to accept me (and my brother) as an emotional support animal. Unfortunately, with added stress in his life, he cannot afford to keep me financially, physically, and even emotionally. Because of his condition and situation, it has been difficult to manage and he admittedly does not have the heart for any other alternatives and is looking for a kind soul to take me (and my brother) as his/her/their very own.
