My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fun loving, cuddle monster Bosun is a 60lb, 7 years old, neutered male looking for a peaceful, loving home with no small children.

Originally from Nevis, Bosun first came to Shelter Chic at 4 months old with his sisters back in 2016. After finding a wonderful adoptive family and being a perfect boy for the last 7 years, Bosun has been becoming increasingly unhappy since the arrival of a new baby. Bosun has become anxious causing him to lick his belly and paws.

However, Bosun would be able to revert back to his playful self in a new environment. He would make a wonderful companion for a single person or a great fur baby for anyone who doesn’t plan to have children.  He is happy to nap on the couch all day, take short walks, or even keep up on a 6 mile strenuous hike as long as he’s spending time with someone.

He’s great at the dog park, loves to play fetch, is crate and house trained and knows all kinds of commands including sitting to wait for permission to eat or walk out the door.

Bosun gets on well with other dogs, but prefers the company of humans. He does not do well with cats or small animals.

Although Bosun was adopted in NYC, we are looking for an adopter based in Nashville, where he currently lives.

If you think you can give Bosun all the love he deserves and would like to meet him, please go to Petstablished.com or follow the link below to complete an application to adopt. All of our animals are in foster homes. For the sake of our animals and foster families, you must have an approved application with references before you can meet them.

More about this rescue

We are a unique rescue, aiming to appeal to people who typically buy from pet stores and breeders. We want to promote adoption in a positive and fun way. We have the same goal as other shelters- to find homeless dogs and cats their forever homes, but we want to change the stigma some people have towards shelters and its animals by creating a chic place that people will want to go to.
We are always on the lookout for animal lovers who are interested in fostering our pets. Please contact us if you would like to assist us with this or other volunteer opportunities.
