My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

9/2/23 - IVE BEEN AFOPTED!
Adoption Fee: $150
Gender: Female
Age: 10 years
Weight: 5.9 lbs.
Fostered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Email: bryorkiemom@yahoo.com

7/5/23 - I’m Lucy, and I guess the first thing you need to know about me is that my hearing and eyesight aren’t what they used to be. I can hear and see, but they are a little compromised now. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t make a great addition to a laid-back relaxed household, just not young like I used to be. Don’t be scared away by this because it doesn’t mean I’m ready to check out, just ready to check into a new home that wants a lap dog, someone they can watch their soaps with and pet as they relieve their stress.
I came to my foster home with Stevie that is on the site, but we are not attached, so can be adopted separately. I too was bounced around a few homes with people who thought they wanted a dog, only to realize they did not. Ultimately, we were both surrendered to a shelter. Wow, being human for some people must be exhausting. All the indecisiveness and weight some of you must carry getting pets and letting them go like we don’t have feelings or a heart.

Well, my foster mom has talked to me and said that my new home is totally up to me now and that I can have anything I want. She, of course, will be helping me screen. I sure am glad, because some of you people can be great liars and I need all the help I can get.

I’m a great girl that loves sleeping in the bed with my mom and/or dad. I’m an absolute love to watch movies and snuggle with. I have a great appetite and do my best in the potty department. I need a home with no children since I’m older and small. Foster mom is retired, so I get to go out multiple times a day and this really helps. I am a typical yorkie in that I love to follow my humans around and don’t even think about sitting in the recliner without me. I just won’t have it. Foster mom and I both agree that I am a GEM and anyone would be lucky to adopt me. But this better not be a knee-jerk decision. Had enough of those people. I want full-on, 100%, till death do us part, commitment because even though my hearing and eyesight may have slightly diminished, my heart works just fine and I love unconditionally.

Fill out the application and hit send. I’ll contact you if we are a match.
