Spencer is a handsome 7-year-old Airedale mix who is in need of a new loving home to settle down in. Since arriving at Four Footed Friends it has been easy for staff and volunteers to notice the differences with Spencer in the kennel environment, versus outside with people where he feels safe. He is naturally a more timid dog, and it takes him a little bit of time to warm up to new people. Spencer also has a tendency to be a bit more cautious with men, and he is especially protective over his food and treats. When outside and able to interact with people on his own terms, Spencer’s authentic loving and affectionate nature has really shone through. He comes right up to you, loves to be pet and shown affection, and we know from his previous home that he is a snuggle bug! He walks really well on a leash and enjoys being outside where he can sniff around and get some fresh air. He is also a slightly more independent dog, happy to do his own thing at times and occupy himself. Spencer has previously lived compatibly with both kids and other dogs, but is not the biggest fan of cats. Do you think you can provide Spencer with a forever home?
