I met Lotus two years ago when she was given to me by a coworker who was unable to continue caring for her due to her apartment building's recently updated pet clause.
Since then, she's been living with me and my first cat.
Lotus is an anxious cat—often skittish—the type to run away if you walk towards her too quickly in a straight line. She's very sweet and reguarly sits next to/on top of me when I take a seat on the couch. She has a quirk of lightly meowing instead of purring when pet. If you scratch her back at the base of her tail she'll start to lick at the air.
The only issue, the only reason I can't keep her, is that her skittish personality does not mesh with my first cat's constantly playful nature.
This oil & water reaction has led to Lotus isolating herself in a corner of the kitchen, and spending most of every day uncomfortable and stressed.
As much as I love Lotus, I realize that this environment is bad for her, and I can only help by taking her out of it.
