Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Murphy, is a mix breed female pup, possibly a Labrador retriever with a little German shepherd. She is about 4 months old and still needs to be spayed. She has had first shots and is microchipped and Murphy is a girl who loves water.
Update 7/17/10 Young Murphy is a mix -- mixed with what, we're not sure, but it makes for a delightful combination! She's a strong-willed girl who nevertheless bonds quickly with her person and wants to please. She'll greet you at the end of your workday with a spectacular full-body wiggle, but can readily entertain herself as well. She's quickly learned to respect the bigger, older dogs at her foster home and makes friends easily.
Working on housetraining (almost there! you just need to be sure to let her out often enough). Crate-trained - she'll fuss a bit at bedtime but settles down quickly. Her best trick so far: wriggling along the floor on her belly, retrieving that long-lost tennis ball out from under the sofa.
Update 6/10/10 Her foster states that Murphy is a ball of energy and needs someone with the time and attention to train her to know the rules, boundaries and limitations of a home. She is a puppy who loves to explore so a backyard for running and playing is a plus. She has very sharp teeth at her puppy stage and would perfer not to be around very young children as her puppy like enthusiasm could intimidate a young one who is not used to excited dogs.
She sleeps well during the night and is a great eater. She has gained and grown in the last few weeks in foster care - she is estimated to be a medium size dog who could weigh up to 60 lbs when fully grown.
She is highly food motivated and learning to not guard her food when fed. She is very good with other dogs and is learning the pack rules and order so other dogs would be a lot of fun for Murphy to play with in her forever home. She has learned to walk on the leash nicely, she's spayed and UTD on her vaccinations.
Update 5/28/10 from Murphy's foster: Murphy loves to play. Thank goodness for [my dog] Hana because no one else can keep up with her energy. Murphy, Hana, and I went on a nice long walk yesterday evening and it seems that Hana isn't the only one that's a dream on a leash! Ok, Murphy isn't perfect...but she's darn good for a little [one]!
Murphy is a master napper and doesn't fight it when I put her in the kennel every couple hours or so...she just goes right to sleep. She is eating great and a joy to be around.
