Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Phoenix is our “second chance at life and rising from the ashes” puppy mill dog from Ohio.
When this 2-year-old Golden Retriever came to us he was very shut down, fearful and always laying in a corner with his head towards the wall. But we are excited to see how much progress he has made. He is shy and timid, however we are confident that he will become a fun loving and affectionate guy. We have seen him opening up to his foster canine brother by running and playing with him. He has even learned to fetch and has discovered soft toys. Eating is a favorite thing for him, and he has even trusted his foster to hand feed him. We did not know that landscaping was one of his talents until he chose an area to till the earth and then lay in his creation. He loves being outside so his new home must have space for him to run and romp as he is still unsure about the big world beyond. He will also need a doggie sibling to lean on and mentor him along his journey in becoming a treasured and loved family member.
