Here's what the humans have to say about me:
unflower is searching for her forever home.
Sunflower is a micro bully (not a Frenchie) but she is definitely about the size of a frenchie. She is about 8 months old and weighs 20lbs. It’s hard to show truly how small she is. She is a little bigger than her sister Dandelion who is also up for adoption. We rescued the sisters from the local city shelter after they were confiscated with multiple other dogs.
Sunflower’s ideal home would probably have kids, she loves them. She would do ok with another dog but she is sassy and although she loves to play it takes her a little bit to warm up to a new dog and big energies are not a good match for her. A little more laid back would be best or she would be perfectly happy as an only dog with puppy playdates. She should probably not live with cats, she is learning to respect them but she is overly interested. She is very smart and doing well with potty training, she will continue to need training in this area especially in a new home and new routine. She loves to play, engage with you and is an expert snuggler. She does not love a crate. She eats in her crate but much more than that and she will tell you for a very very long time that you need to let her out. However, she can easily be kept in a laundry room etc. when left alone for any significant amount of time.
Sunflower is a really good girl and although she is small she is mighty and will need a dog experienced home to give her guidance and routine to set her up for success in her life ahead.
She is a healthy puppy with one loose hip that the vet is confident will tighten up as she gets a little older. If her hip does become an issue the rescue will help cover the cost of surgery. She is spayed and up to date on shots as well as microchipped. She has no other additional health concerns at this time but keep in mind this is not a hiking buddy or a dog to take out on long walks especially in the heat.
If you are interested in meeting Sunflower, please fill out an adoption application via our website: www.retiredtorescue.org
We will consider out of state adoptions for Sunflower to a home where she will be the only dog.
