Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Whiskey is coming soon for adoption. This boy is a diamond in the ruff. He is an Aussie mix - but that mix MUST include Golden Retriever and Pyrenees. He is a big doll, who is working on house manners. Loves everyone, including cats and other dogs - he has the most loving, playful heart wrapped in a clumsy, still developing body.
Whiskey is about 60 lbs and getting more coordinated by the day. He is between 12 months and 18 months old. Whiskey is house trained and crate trained and crating when you are out is recommended until he is more mature. Temperament is very golden - the guy is an easy going, non-reactive lug nut of a dog.
He will be GREAT with a family as he loves kids. I have witnessed no herding behavior. He also has no resource guarding. Whiskey loves water and has experienced body surfing and wave hopping! However, he is not super heat tolerant and will flop down on a walk if he is getting hot. Whiskey's only challenges are bouncy exuberance (needs ongoing training) and an environmental allergy (like hay fever) which is easily and cheaply managed. Whiskey is still learning and he is very physical but pure sweetness. I think due to his size, kids over 8 -10 would be best. He is scheduled to be neutered in mid July but is ready to go to his furever family after that. Whiskey is located in Northern Virginia. If Whiskey sounds perfect for your family, please fill out the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
