Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

UPDATE 7/13/10: Check out Beans' YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvG7VAsjNdc
Beans is a remarkable dog that was rescued from a neglectful living situation. He came into rescue with a terrible skin infection, but volunteers nursed him back to health! His beautiful, wiry, white and tan coat is slowly starting to grow back now.
Despite his past, Beans maintains a truly happy personality. His tail wags the moment he sees you looking at him. Volunteers especially love when he nudges you with his big nose until you pet him. When you do, he just stares longingly at you with his sweet brown eyes - loving every bit of attention.
We believe Beans is a 4 year old Airedale Terrier / Bull Terrier mix. Despite being 40 lbs, he insists he is a lap dog. So be prepared for some cuddling!
Beans does enjoy playing and being around other dogs; however he does not do well living in a household with other dogs. An adoptive home where he is the only resident dog is a must. Furry playmates are welcome to visit from time-to-time though! Beans is just a little too interested in cats (must be the Terrier in him!) - so he would do best in a household without kitties running around.
Volunteers say Beans is a joy. He is a smart cookie. He knows how to use a doggie door and he knows how to do a very nice "sit".
If you can look at Beans' picture and imagine how even more handsome this boy will be when his skin has fully healed, then you might just be the family this boy is looking for!
Beans is fully vaccinated and neutered. If you are interested in adopting Beans, please fill out an online application at www.sadiemaefoundation.org. $300 adoption donation, vet reference check and home visit apply.
Note: We ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from our kennel in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
