Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**PLEASE NOTE: Before any adoption is to take place we require all questions below to be answered and we then setup a zoom call with prospective adopters. Daniella is located in Bakersfield. If you are able to come to Bakersfield that is a plus. If not we travel a 100 mile radius to bring a dog to their new home. That includes all of Kern County, Tulare County, Fresno County, and part of Los Angeles as well as Paso Robles. Any distances further than that will be considered with a travel fee. Due to time constraints only one in person meeting will be scheduled.)***
Meet Daniella!
If you are looking for your own personal Wookie with THE greatest personality, full of love, sunshine andj joy then this fluffball is your girl! Daniella is a 3 year old mixture of Shih Tzu, Pomeranian and Poodle who has a beautiful coat that is very low shedding! Her second photo is after a recent grooming and the last photo is when her family had her cut all the way down.
Daniella weighs about 11 pounds and was being given up due to the fact that there was an imminent divorce and the husband (who had her) was moving out of state and said he would not be able to take her. When you are with her it is hard to believe anyone could give her up! She is always all smiles! She is joyful, loves toys, loves people and is good with other dogs and cats. She is entirely housebroken, walks well on a leash and adores car rides.
Daniella would be great for a family with kids or as a travel companion. She doesn't really bark either so she would probably be fine in an apartment setting. Although her former owner left her outside most of the time and is used to a yard we believe she could get used to not having one. She is really one of those one in a million dogs who is well adjusted, kind, loves adventure, loves to play (adores balls) and a good cuddle!
As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as:
1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule.
2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. (Please indicate city)
3. How many adults, children and pets in the household.
4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work.
5. Where your pet will sleep.
6. Dog breed experience
7. Have you ever had to give up a pet
8. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Daniella socialized with other dogs
Some notes to consider before applying for Daniella:
1. Daniella is a 3 1/2 year old young dog. Please make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the responsibility of a young dog.
2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. If you are not ready to adopt WHEN the dog is available please wait to write in when you are.
3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place.
4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process.
5. We do not make appointments for people to just come "see" the dogs available. They are in private foster homes and we go through a pre-screening process before any appointments are made.
Thank you for choosing to adopt!
